There are no absolutes!
Trilobe puts an end to 7 centuries of horological tradition by offering a new way to read time. For centuries, time was frozen under moving hands. Trilobe liberates time from the constraint of hands and set it in motion. It is carried away in a dance, around three rotating rings that move across the dial.
Trilobe breaks the absolute of watchmaking with its eccentric dynamics: a challenge towards the traditionally centered watchmaking kinematics. Three eccentric rings are rotating on the dial, in a counterclockwise direction, carrying with them the scales of time: The largest ring for hours, the medium one for minutes and the smallest one for seconds. This exclusive way of displaying time has been patented by Trilobe. 5 years of research and development, and the expertise of 55 master craftsmen were required to develop this marvel of engineering.
Trilobe’s original way of displaying hours, minutes and seconds is only made possible by the X-Centric calibre, an automatic movement designed in-house and developed exclusively for Trilobe. The X-Centric calibre is a watchmaking innovation, precision and craftsmanship compendium pushing back the boundaries of time through this singular time display. It offers a 48-hour power reserve and beats at a frequency of 28.800 vibrations per hour (4Hz), for a heightened precision of Trilobe’s timepieces.
Born in Paris, Trilobe draws much of its inspiration from the City of Light. It is in the heart of its Parisian workshop, offering a breathtaking view of the Opéra Garnier, that Trilobe watches come to life. With passion and dedication, Trilobe’s team of watchmaking craftsmen carries out the final stages of the creation of Trilobe timepieces. Each piece is fully assembled and encased by a watchmaker who works with rigor and precision to ensure a watch with impeccable finishes, meeting the high standards of the Maison.
Underneath the minimalist aesthetic of Trilobe’s movement, lies an extremely complex assembly and adjustment process due to its unique time display. To be able to offer a 48-hour power reserve despite such a heavy display, Trilobe's X-Centric calibre needs to operate to perfection. Trilobe seeked out the bests craftsmen capable of carrying out such meticulous, rigorous, and precise work to overcome this one-of-a-kind technical challenge.
Les Matinaux Collection
The sunray dial is made of five parts, three of which are in permanent rotation: The largest ring for hours, the medium ring for minutes and the smallest ring for seconds. Eccentric and mobile, they turn counterclockwise on the dial. The trilobe, a universal and timeless architectural shape that echoes the three pillars of time (Hours, Minutes and Seconds), measures the passage of time. The Sainte-Chapelle rose window was chosen as an inspiration for the skeleton of the seconds disc. A so-called “radiant” architecture, allowing the rays of light to enter. A luminous and subtle invitation into the heart of the movement. Encased in steel or rose gold, this model comes in several variations with sunray dials: Silver, Grey, Blue, Carmine, and Green.
Nuit Fantastique Collection
The design of this creation favors minimalism and plays with perceptions. The grained dial is a real technical challenge, underlying the watch elegance. It defies symmetrical shapes and is made up of four parts, three of which are in permanent rotation. Raw and uncluttered, this unstructured dial opens three distinct windows: The largest ring for hours; the minutes wheel that appears within an aperture; The seconds wheel, which alternates between a “Clous de Paris” centre and an azured ring. Encased in titanium or rose gold, this model comes in several variations with grained or guilloche dials: Silver, Black, Blue, Havana, Dune, Green, Brume, Lumière, Ombre, and “Secret“.
Nuit Fantastique Brume Edition
At the heart of this creation, and for the first time on a Maison Trilobe model, is a guilloche technique known as “Barley Grain“, which is the aesthetic focus of the piece. The design of this ancient motif has been reworked exclusively for this edition, in alignment with the brand’s eccentric displays. The ambivalence of this piece is conveyed through the relief of the dial, which unites two traditional decorative watchmaking techniques. The Clous de Paris guilloche, with its incisive rectilinear pattern, contrasts with the spheres of the Grain d’Orge guilloche, formed by interlaced curves. The Grain d’Orge guilloche takes as its starting point the center of the minute window and highlights the Trilobe time display. This model is encased in titanium or rose gold.
Une Folle Journée Collection
With its rotating and floating eccentric rings, this collection hits new heights by combining fine watchmaking traditions with a contemporary design. The dial, open for the first time, enables to savor the watchmaking craftsmanship of the X-Centric calibre, without losing sight of the rotating rings’ singularity. The three rings of the hours, minutes and seconds are tiered and fly under a sapphire bubble of 10.2 mm in height, a true watchmaking prowess. Projected in space and balanced by 9 pillars, Trilobe’s rings are each the result of a complex assembly. Encased in titanium or rose gold, this model comes in several variations with bridges plated with black gold, rhodium or gold 5N: Blue, Black, Dune, Green, Diamond.
L’Heure Exquise Collection
The L'Heure Exquise collection marks the entrance of the Maison into the world of lyrical horological complications, with a timepiece adorned with a moon phase. A celestial window opens at the heart of the dial, set within a bezel with polished and satin finishes. It reveals a ballet of stars dancing on a sapphire crystal to the rhythm of the seconds. Beneath this celestial waltz, two moons face each other in the night sky of the azured disc, transforming in time with the new X-Centric movement. Encased in titanium or rose gold, this model comes in three variations: Blue, Dune and “Secret”.
