Invenit et Fecit
François-Paul Journe’s passion for watchmaking history and the ambition to to contribute himself to write new pages in this story have allowed us to witness the birth of some of the most formidable mechanical creations that have ever existed including:
Sonnerie Souveraine with grande and petite sonnerie, the ultra-thin minute repeater Repétition Souveraine, the Tourbillon Souverain with remontoir d’egalité, the iconic Chronomètre à Resonance with double balance wheel and the Chronomètre Optimum with bi-axial escapement.
Innovation and research are at the bottom of François-Paul’s work whose only purpose is to create the most precise mechanical watches possible.
Accuracy in fact, together with manufacturing excellence and chronometry are some of the values that the Master pursues and that can be found in each of his timepieces.
The nearly 900 watches produced each year by F.P.Journe are made and assembled in Geneva where its movement manufacture, the case and the dial factory are located. The high technology of machine tools is essential to achieve the required level of perfection, but mantaining the traditional craftsmanship remains essential since many operations can only be performed by hand, tirelessly repeated with infinite precision.
GMT is partner of F.P. Journe since 2007 and in 2014 has been the first retailer in Europe to open an Espace Journe, a place dedicated to collectors and enthusiasts where you can see and touch the complete watch collection, Classique, lineSport and éléganteaas well as limited or special series not available at normal retailers.
