CHANEL CERAMIC
To create the iconic J12 in 2000, CHANEL
adopted anavant-garde approach and selected
a revolutionary material that made it possible to
produce an intensely black watch. Extremely durable
and scratch-proof, seven times more resistant than
steel, light and soft to the touch, ceramic is among
the emblematic materials in CHANEL Watchmaking.
PRECISE TECHNIQUES
The CHANEL Watch Manufacture manages the
assembly of each timepiece down to the very last
stage of production. Some steps are skilfully
done by hand, “manu-factum”, such as putting
together links or interlacing leather. The precision
of these processes requires meticulous gestures
that only humans can perform and that cannot be
industrialized.
RESISTANCE AND DURABILITY
These final steps completed at the CHANEL Watch
Manufacture verify the performance, precision
and durability of each timepiece. Torsion, water
resistance, temperature variations... Key tests are
conducted to guarantee the resistance, resilience
and quality of CHANEL watches according to the
highest standards of excellence.
